Let's drive around Austin Texas -yeah right!

My favorite rant:

So how many of you have driven in Austin Texas?

I make the daily trek to and from work utilizing the newest toll roads. That should make it easier, right?

If you were fool hearty enough to say yes, then I'm sorry to be the one to inform you that you are terribly wrong. While the toll road does provide an almost direct route between my office and home, it takes lots of skill and patience to arrive at my destination safely. You see, driving in Austin is a lot like fighting a bobcat in a phone booth. You know that it's going to be painfully hazardous but by the grace of God you survive.

Needless to say, I am not very cheerful when I do arrive at my destination. In fact, I am a little tempermental. Who can blame me?

I just survived a gauntlet of fools and idiots trying to kill me, just like a bobcat trapped in a phone booth.

  1. I can guarantee this is not unique to Austin but I would rather be driving in Austin than in NC. ;^)

  2. Interesting. Is that because driving in NC is more demanding then driving in Austin or is it because you have more connections (family and friends, like me) in the Austin area?
